As game companies with football titles on the market are wont to do this time of year, the folks behind Mutant Football League have simulated this year’s Big Game™ with their game - and if it’s anything to go by, the New England Patriots are going to pull out a close one. Of course, there will probably be a lot fewer explosions and decapitations in the actual game.
In this nail-biter (almost literally in this case) of a game, MFL’s version of the Patriots, the Nuked London Hatriots pulled off a last-minute win against L.A. Ram’s counterpart Los Scandalous Damned 27-25 in overtime. You can watch the bloody disgusting highlights below.
The celebrations don’t end with just a passive simulation, however. Developer Digital Dreams Entertainment is holding two esports tournaments through Esports Labs that could net the winners some pretty nice cash.
One is a tournament held on February 2nd in which participants are encouraged to literally eliminate the other players (in the game, not in real life - let’s not get crazy here). The other is a week-long version of MFL’s version of a GM mode, Dynasty King. You can get details on both here.
Finally, Digital Dreams has also announced an expansion to the game, the LA Power Pack DLC, featuring the aforementioned Damned and the MFL’s version of the Chargers, the Los Scandalous Volts, a new arena and a new player type, the Mutant Cyborg. The pack is available now for $1.99. The game itself is also on sale across all platforms through February 5th for 35% off, so go grab it.
